IPB University Delegates Receive Awards at ISBR Business School International Conference, India

The delegation of IPB University won an award in an international conference held by the International School of Business and Research (ISBR) Business School. In the event that took place in Bangalore, India, one of the delegation teams managed to come out as the best presenter / paper for the health sector.

IPB University delegates who attended were Prof Sri Anna Marliyati, dr Naufal Muharam Nurdin, MSi, and Muhammad Aries, SP, MSi as well as three students (Aditya Himarwan, SGz and Aditya Rizqi Hafidzuddin and Ade Prastio).

Ade Prastio, a member of the IPB University delegation who won the award, presented research on the effects of various processing methods on protein content and quality in undis beans (Cajanus cajan). The research results he presented received a very good assessment and were highly appreciated by the reviewers.

“Beans are widely consumed as a source of protein. However, in-depth research on the quality of protein from these beans is still not much done, especially on undis beans which are typical beans from Bali Island, Indonesia,” said Ade, a student of IPB University from the Nutrition Science Study Program.

Research in the health sector was also delivered by other IPB University researchers, Muhammad Aries, SP, MSi. In the conference, the lecturer of Nutrition Science of IPB University presented the results of a study on the relationship between iron folate intake and the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls in Cirebon Regency.

“The research results show that low intake of iron folate is one of the causes of the high prevalence of anemia. This then causes their fitness level to be poor,” he explained.

The event, which is part of the Erasmus+ Spirit Project, was attended by all coordinators, faculty, and student members of the Spirit Club. They came from three Asian countries (Indonesia, India and Sri Lanka). Consisting of ISBR Business School, Lovely Professional University and Bharati Vidyapeeth University (India); University of Peradeniya and Sabaragamuwa University (Sri Lanka); and University of North Sumatra, IPB University and Syiah Kuala University (Indonesia). The European counterparts were University of Nicosia (Cyprus) and University Politecnica de Valencia (Spain).

The delegates of each country presented various research results that had been carried out. IPB University delegates were divided into two groups of research fields: health and sports sustainability / sports.

In sports sustainability group, Aditya Hirmawan, SGz presented the results of research on the development of computer games to improve nutritional knowledge in adolescent groups.

The next research was about the relationship between the level of knowledge, body composition, and training intensity with the race performance of amateur long-distance runners. This second research was presented by Aditya Rizqi Hafizudin.
