The Directorate of Strategic Studies and Academic Reputation (DKSRA) of IPB University organised intensive mentoring activities for IPB University’s scientific journals towards internationally reputable indexation, in this case indexed by Scopus. The mentoring activities were carried out on four IPB University scientific journals that have prepared themselves to apply for Scopus indexation this year.

The four journals include Journal of Natural Resources and Environmental Management (JPSL), Journal of Indonesian Fisheries Product Management (JPHPI), Journal of Agribusiness Management (JMA) and Agromet Journal. The four assisted journals are targeted to apply for Scopus indexation this year.

The activity was officially opened by Prof Anuraga Jayanegara as Director of KSRA IPB University. “We need to collaborate and synergise so that IPB University journals can be of higher quality, one of which is indexed by Scopus, so that it can create a better reputation for IPB University and its community,” explained Prof Anuraga.

The mentoring this time presented two speakers who had experience in managing Scopus indexed journals. The two speakers were Dr Iman Rusmana as editor in chief of Hayati Journal of Bioscience and Dr Efi Yuliati Yovi as editor in chief of Journal of Tropical Forest Management (JMHT). Hayati and JMHT are two IPB University journals that are currently indexed by Scopus Q3 and are included in the Q3 standings of internationally reputable journals.

The agenda of the event consisted of presentations on the progress of the readiness of each journal to submit Scopus indexation which was then given a review and reinforcement on specific matters by the speakers.

“Hopefully, with this kind of mentoring activity, journal managers will get constructive input so that the journals they manage will be better prepared for the Scopus indexation submission process,” said Prof Anugara. (Tia/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
