Herbal plants always have a myriad potential and benefits for humans. Besides being used as the basic ingredients of medicines, herbs can also be used as basic ingredients of making products, both food and cosmetics. Unfortunately, the potential of herbal plants in Indonesia is still not developed optimally. Seeing the condition, five Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) students tried to utilize the herbs produced by Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) in the village of Gunung Bunder, Bogor.

Under the guidance of Dr. Nindyantoro in Student Community Creativity Program (PKM-M), the five students of IPB named Salma Ainunnisa Fitrayadhi, Gilang Gunawan, Muhammad Fajar Kurniawan, Indah Sukmawati, and Desi Wulansari tried to activate KWT Gunung Bunder village by making Portal Herbal id.

Portal Herbal id is a program aimed at KWT Gunung Bunder village by utilizing existing KWT post and converting it into integrated post of herb plants by focusing on education of traditional medicinal plant.

"In the village of Mount Bunder there is a KWT that has a post and park, but not functioned. Well from there, we are thinking to reactivate the KWT along with the post and its garden by making Portal Herbal id, "said Salma Ainunnisa Fitrayadhi, a student from the Department of Communication Science and Community Development (SKPM).

Some herbs cultivated in Portal Herbal id are lemongrass, bay leaves, cloves, pandanus, ginger, turmeric and galangal.

"From these plants, we also have hope that the economy of the people can increase, whether they want to make drugs or other products," said Salma Ainunnisa.

According to Salma, the area of ??Mount Bunder is a potential area for cultivating herbs. The derivative products of herbal plants are very good to be developed considering the easily accessible resources.

One of the products developed by Salma and his four colleagues in Portal Herbal id is Hermita (Sirih Herbal Milik Kita) made into hand wash and mouthwash.

"Well betel has an antiseptic substance, so we use to make hand washing materials and mouthwash," added Salma.

Salma's hope, this program can continue and develop and can reactivate KWT in Gunung Bunder village to lift the economy of the people there.

"We hope that this Herbal Portal id can continue and not stop in the middle of the road as it once was. In addition, with this active KWT post again, we hope the communication can be well established and the people's economy can increase, "added Salma. (DMR)
