Returning to Campus, 28 IPB Alumni Celebrate Togetherness at the 30 Year ++ Reunion Event
IPB University alumni class 28 returned to campus to celebrate more than 30 years of togetherness at the 30 Year Reunion ++ which was held in the Common Class Room (CCR) Building, IPB Dramaga Campus.
The Rector of IPB University, Prof. Arif Satria, who was present at the event, said that alumni are one of the pillars that support the existence of IPB University. Therefore, he always makes time to attend every event involving alumni.
“I am proud of the initiative of IPB University class 28 alumni who just formed the Gladiagri 28 Foundation a few months ago, but have been able to provide scholarships to 10 outstanding students,” said Prof Arif.
Chairman of the Gladiagri 28 Foundation, Irvan Marthen, explained that his party provides monthly living expenses assistance to 10 students for a year. This effort is so that students can concentrate more on carrying out their studies and become good ambassadors for others.
“Apart from that, we have also just donated a garden to the campus created by all the alumni. After this, the foundation will also build Rumah Fighter, a free residence that can accommodate 28 outstanding students at IPB University,” he said.
Chairman of the event committee, Yefri Hasan Basri, said that the 30 Year Reunion ++ IPB 28 alumni event was filled with a variety of activities. Starting with ice breaking and intergroup competition. Each group was required to complete several tasks such as making a mummy from a roll of tissue and a rubber relay race.
After lunch eating Dapoer Teh eRYe dishes, participants were treated to a fashion show featuring batik designed by Frida Aulia Indonesia, an IPB University alumni designer who had just held an exhibition in New York. Twenty IPB University alumni from 7 existing faculties in 1991 became impromptu models and fashion models.
To revive local culture, the committee also invited all alumni to join in playing angklung playing the song “Wind of Change” from the German group, Scorpion. This event was hosted by Yuni Prihayati, alumni of the Landscape Architecture Study Program (Prodi).
“Alhamdulillah, all participants expressed satisfaction and happiness with this event. They were able to meet again with friends from college who had never appeared at previous reunions. “We hope that after this, IPB University class 28 alumni will also flock to enliven the 60th Anniversary Grand Reunion of IPB University which will be held at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC) on November 25-26,” she said.
The 30 Year ++ Reunion event closed with the symbolic inauguration of Gladiagri 28 Park which is located in front of the IPB University Women’s Dormitory by the Rector of IPB University. (*/Rz) (IAAS/YMK)
