DPMA and Department of IKK IPB University Launching Go-Roasting, Gotong Royong Overcoming Stunting

In the framework of IPB Peduli Stunting activities, the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences (IKK), Faculty of Human Ecology (Fema) together with the Directorate of Agromaritime Community Development (DPMA) IPB University launched the Gotong Royong Overcoming Stunting (Go-Roasting) program in Sindangbarang Village, West Bogor District, Bogor City, West Java.

Head of the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, Dr Tin Herawati said, through this Go-Roasting program, the community, IPB University academic community, and the government, together work to support zero stunting in Bogor City. 

"This collaboration is expected as a joint step of IPB University in realizing a generation of healthy, qualified, and productive human resources in the wider community," she said at the launch of Go-Roasting, recently.

This activity was also equipped with the delivery of Supplementary Food (PMT). In this case, DPMA IPB University distributed Calina Papaya to as many as 70 beneficiaries of this activity. The distribution of Calina Papaya is considered one of the efforts to prevent stunting in Bogor City. 

Calina papaya or often widely known as California papaya is a local Indonesian fruit with varieties bred by IPB University researchers. This small-sized fruit contains benefits such as vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin K, fiber, calcium, potassium, folate, and magnesium. The content can improve digestion, boost the immune system, and is good for the development of toddlers as well as the health of pregnant and lactating women.

This activity was also attended by the Dean of Fema IPB University, Chairperson of the Bogor City Family Empowerment and Welfare Movement Team (TP PKK), Deputy Mayor of Bogor, Bunda Peduli Stunting, IPB University alumni, local hospital, officials, and village communities. (*/Rz) (IAAS/TNY)
