Achievement

Coming from a simple family does not decrease the enthusiasm of Sanhaji from Bondowoso, East Java, to gain many achievements. Sanhaji is a student of the Department of Mechanical and Biosystem Engineering, IPB University. Sanhaji’s father works as a furniture maker with an income of around 2.5 million rupiahs per month, while his mother does not work. Since studying at IPB University, Sanhaji has won at least 15 achievements both nationally and internationally.

“When I was in the 2nd grade of senior high school, I tried to take part in the KIR (Youth Scientific Work) extracurricular activity, but then I stopped at the beginning because I joined it half-heartedly. During my first university’s year, I began to learn how to write scientific proposals for the Student Creativity Program (PKM). I faced the failure at the beginning because of the rudimentary writing. Alhamdulillah, in the second year, I received a scholarship to live in the Pondok Inspirasi Dormitory where I began to study seriously how to write good scientific work,” said Sanhaji.

At first, Sanhaji acknowledged that writing was difficult especially in finding the right ideas and in composing sentences. “But for me, it is like a guide map to get a treasure. And this is proven, working hard with the endeavour to continue to learn to write well through the coaching from the Pondok Inspirasi dormitory, prayer, and support from parents and Rico Juni Artanto who always motivates me to be the best. Alhamdulillah, now I really enjoy the benefits and blessings given by Allah SWT. Insha Allah, luck will continue to flow with blessings,” said Sanhaji who was also chosen as the Delegation of IPB TRI-U in China this October.

For continuing to work with achievement and innovation, Sanhaji was motivated to make his parents happy, create innovation, prepare undergraduate theses, and actualise his dreams to become an entrepreneur in the field of agricultural equipment and machinery. The works that have been made into products can be commercialised. There are two superior products by Sanhaji and team, namely ERBRON-C (palm fruit picker tool) and STAR-TREX (sulfur mining carrier machinery).

“Masya Allah, I am very grateful to Allah SWT. My mother and father always provide the best for me in any way. I remember my father sold his cow to buy me a laptop when I was going to go to IPB first time. The cow was our family’s valuable treasure. And until now, Alhamdulillah, I am able to create extraordinary works with the laptop,” he said.

Sanhaji is a Bidikmisi scholarship recipient who must study independently since the beginning. The first thing that is embedded in his mind is that he has to find a way to not receive allowance from his parents. “Alhamdulillah, Allah always provides direct fortune to me through various competitions of scientific work. My mother’s prayers for me are immeasurable. She always prays and wants me to continue my education to a master degree. May Allah give me the opportunity to continue my study up to a doctoral degree in any way,” he concluded.
