Fisheries Diving Club -Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB FDC) in collaboration with the Center for Regional Research and Development (Research and Development) Southeast Maluku Regional Government and the World Wide Fund (WWF) Indonesia together an expedition Zooxanthellae 15th in the East Coast Kei Besar, Southeast Maluku. XV Zooxanthellae Expedition Team has successfully conducted observations of coral reef ecosystem health include corals, reef fish and makrobenthos on 6 to 13 November 2018 and on the East Coast Great Kei, Southeast Maluku. Observations carried out parallel to the shoreline at shallow depths (3 meters) and a depth deep (10 meters) to the data collection methods used for data collection of coral reefs using a PIT (Point Intercept Transect), reef fish using Underwater Visual Census and Belt Transect and retrieval of data macrobentos and reef health using the Belt Transect.

In addition to marine exploration, the expedition team totaling 16 members of FDC-IPB also socio-cultural exploration by conducting interviews with local residents. In this expedition team has a home base in the village of Weduar and Yamtel with observation locations scattered in the District of Great Kei South East, Kei Besar and Kei Besar Utara Timur “This observation is an activity for the first time carried out, so that the data we get in these observations used as baseline data for the base construction or management of coral reef ecosystems as a whole on the East Coast Great Kei, “said Siti Khadija, Executive Chairman Expedition.
