In the Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship Expo (KMI) 2018, there were two alumni figures from the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) who were successful in the field of sociopreneur. They are Annisa Hasanah, EcoFunopolly founder and Aang Permana CEO of Crispy Ikan Si Petek. Both of them attended the Entrepreneurship Talkshow, one of a series of events at the 2018 KMI Expo held at the Sylva-Pertamina Auditorium, Dramaga Campus of IPB, Bogor (10/11).

Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of IPB, Dr. Ir. Syarifah Iis Aisyah, M.Sc.Agr in her speech said that entrepreneurs are people who dare to be different. They make creations, innovations and add value to a product. This is what distinguishes entrepreneurs from traders.

"Annisa and Aang will share their experiences and you (students) will get knowledge from a sociopreneur who has a stake in the community," he explained.

On this occasion Annisa Hasanah, founder of EcoFunopolly, began the talkshow session by explaining the reasons for going into the world of entrepreneurship. "Starting from an interest in environmental issues, especially waste and climate change, I developed board games with a basis like a monopoly that can instill values of environmental love to the younger generation. The concept is learning and playing where it can be obtained from interactive games in Ecofunopolly. This effort led me to more than 31 countries, inviting the younger generation to be more concerned about their environment," said Annisa.

Annisa emphasized that through entrepreneurship she was able to develop herself and care more about her environment. Entrepreneurship cannot be instant and it is only a matter of looking for big profits, but it requires a desire to continue to learn and develop in order to become a good sociopreneur.

Meanwhile CEO of Crispy Ikan Si Petek, Aang Permana tells about how he chose to become an entrepreneur. Aang had worked in the oil and gas agency for two years before finally choosing a resign and focus on entrepreneurship.

"Starting from the abundance of petek fish in my hometown and was not utilized optimally by the surrounding community, I took the initiative to make processed products with petek fish as the base material. Besides that, I also took part in empowering the surrounding community so that I did not succeed for myself," he explained.

Petek fish has calcium content 16 times more than a glass of milk at the same dose. The population of Indonesia aged 5-15 years is quite large so that the market for processed products is very promising.

Annisa and Aang become sociopreneur who are able to give a good impact not only for themselves, but also for the community and the surrounding environment. They advised that the business carried out must be unique, different and consistent in order to be able to survive. In addition, every entrepreneur must have three key things: intentions that not only to earn money, never to put on airs, and create innovations.

"The entrepreneur is persistent and knows the risks he faces. However, they can deal with it. A problem can not only be solved with one solution, but many ways to solve it," said Aang.

KMI 2018 is an annual activity that brings together all young entrepreneurs in various universities to gather and showcase attractive products from young Indonesian entrepreneurs. This year KMI carries the theme "Strengthening Indonesian Student Entrepreneurs through Techno-Sociopreneurship in Facing the Industrial Revolution 4.0" and was attended by 124 universities from all over Indonesia. (FM)
