Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) on November 13th, 2018 in Taiwan. The MoU signing was carried out by Dr. Arif Satria–IPB’s Rector and Ying-Yao Cheng, PhD–NSYSU’s Rector, witnessed by NSYSU lecturers, staffs and IPB delegation, including Dr. Rinekso Soekmadi–Dean of IPB Faculty of Forestry, Dr. I Wayan Nurjaya–Head of Marine Science and Technology Department, IPB Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Dr. Neviaty P Zamani and Dr. Hawis Madduppa. NSYSU Taiwan is among the 2019’s Top 50 QS World University, founded in 1980 and establishes excellent educational and research facilities, including smart aquaculture, marine biotechnology, molecular ecology, marine technology (ROV, CTD, echosounder), computer engineering and science, materials and optoelectrical science, photonic and other emerging areas. Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on Dual Master Degree in marine field was also signed between Department of Marine Science and Technology, IPB Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences and Department of Marine Biotechnology and Resources, NSYSU Faculty of Marine Science. This dual master degree program will start in 2019 and registration will be opened in January 2019 for September 2019 academic year. During this occasion, IPB delegation delivered public lecture in marine field attended by both NSYSU lecturers and students. Dr. Neviaty P. Zamani as lecturer and Head of IPB Marine Science Postgraduate Program shared about marine biology and habitat rehabilitation, whilst Dr. Hawis Madduppa, as lecturer and Head of IPB Marine Biodiversity and Biosystematics Lab, presented lecture on Indonesian marine biodiversity and environmental DNA, and Dr. I Wayan Nurjaya derivered review and introduction of IPB Department of Marine Science and Technology, including their lecturers, expertise, academic atmospheres, facilities and international cooperation. IPB delegation as well visited NSYSU various facilities and dived in one of Kenting National Park research locations.
