The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) are a reference in achieving the goals of sustainable development in a country. There are 17 pillars with 169 measurable achievements in accordance with the provisions of the United Nations (UN). The SDG concept is a continuation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) concept launched in 2015.

At present the goals and targets of the SDG’s have not been widely known by the public. The limited understanding of SDGs in the community is feared to have an impact on achieving the goals of the SDGs themselves. This opportunity is utilized by the Agribusiness Department of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Bogor Agricultural University (FEM IPB) to socialize SDG's through video competition. This video competition is a series of Agribusiness for SDG's 2018.

The video competition is aimed for high school students and university students. This competition aims to socialize the SDG’s to the community through creative work. The message delivered in the video can contain 17 pillars of SDG's or only partially. The message is packed in videos with a maximum duration of three minutes.

Dr. Bayu Krisnamurthi, M.Sc., initiator of Agribusiness for SDG's event, who is also a lecturer in  the Department of Agribusiness , said that through video competition can convey SDG's message to the community in a simple way. The contested video can contain one or more of the 17 SDG's slogans.

"We really hope that the SDG’s slogan can be accepted by the wider community, especially in Indonesia. I feel that there are still many people who do not know about SDGs so there needs to be socialization to them," said Bayu.

According to him, lack of knowledge about SDG’s in the community, can hamper the implementation of sustainable development in Indonesia. He hopes that this video competition can make it easier for the public to accept the 17 pillars of the SDGs that were announced. He also hoped that the video works that were included in the top 10 were planned to be aired on television and there will be a special session to show the video. Not only videos from contestants, Dr. Bayu hopes that the television media will present special shows that contain 17 SDG pillars.

Pamungkas Trishadiatmoko, LPP TVRI Supervisory Board Member, also welcomed the proposal for a special broadcast hour on the promotion of SDG's slogans. He will propose to TVRI to give special shows about sustainable development.

"This activity is very good, because it turns out that this SDG has not become the nation's attention. We will try to propose that videos about SDGs be published on TVRI with special impressions, "Pamungkas said.

He said no matter how small the effort to socialize the SDG would be very helpful in sustainable development in Indonesia. He invited the community, especially the video contest participants to continue working. Not only motivated to get champions or money, but with the motivation to realize sustainable development in Indonesia.

This video competition presents Pamungkas Trishadiatmoko, Wahyu Budi Priatna (Agribusiness Academics), and Benni Setiawan (film director) as the jury. Of the 71 videos sent by participants, only 10 were selected to advance to the final round. (Fadhil)
