The Opening Ceremony of Academic Year 2016-17 for Multilevel Program and 53rd Anniversary of IPB
A total of 7597 (seven thousand five hundred ninety seven) new recruited multilevel study programs (the Diploma, graduates and undergraduates program) students of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) and other university communities attended the opening ceremony of the 2016/2017 Academic Year which was incorporated with the 53rd Anniversary of IPB, on Thursday, 1st September 2016, at the Gymnasium of Campus IPB, Dramaga, Bogor. IPB Rector and other university executives arrived at the venue by riding bicycles from the Rector Office, Andi Hakim Nasution building.
Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Yonny Koesmaryono, in his report stated that currently IPB is in the effort to improve the organization of academic activities, IPB is in the process to integrate the implementation of multilevel study programs the university offers, such as the diploma program, undergraduate and postgraduate studies programs. Further he explained that currently the total number of the incoming new students batch 53rd for Academic Year 2016/2017 all in all the are Diploma Program 2,327 (two thousand three hundred twenty seven) students, the undergraduate program 3,872 (three thousand eight hundred seventy two) students, and the Graduate Program.1,208 (one thousand two hundred eight).
On this occasion, the Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto, stated that the annual work program of IPB for 2016 is reputation and innovation. The work program is focused on producing and developing a wide range of useful innovations, to improve the programs, systems, models and policies to increase competitiveness through research excellence. "We should be grateful that IPB has made plenty of achievements, especially in the last eight years the University produced the most number of innovations, thus IPB has become the most innovative campus in Indonesia," he explained.
Finally, rector expected that freshmen of batch 53rd are ready to fight as well as possible, and continually improving capacity skills of academic ability and innovation to meet the challenges that will arise, particularly in agriculture. "With the skills and competencies they will obtain while they are studying at IPB, I am sure they will have opportunities to take any jobs or posts in various markets for the development of the national economic growth, especially in the agricultural sector in the broad sense," he added.
To mark the beginning of Academic Calendar for 2016/2017, Rector and Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of IPB to dress up the alma mater suit to 12 representative of students from various degree programs. It was followed by the release of balloons by 14 members of the Executive Boards of IPB to mark the beginning of the serial programs of the 53rd Anniversary of IPB. (Awl)
