Eating Analog Rice and Caping Wave Enlivened the Opening of MPKMB of IPB of 53rd Batch

Period of Introduction of New Student Campus (MPKMB) of 53rd Batch of Undergraduate Program of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) was officially opened by the Rector of IPB, Prof.Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto, in Graha Widya Wisuda, Campus of IPB Darmaga, Bogor, Friday (26/8). Also present at this occasion was the Governor of West Java, Dr. Ahmad Heryawan.
 
The Governor conveyed a message to new students of IPB to study well and be proud, because the campus of IPB was the campus that was proclaimed by the first President of Indonesia, Bung Karno, as the campus that maintained the food sovereignty of Indonesia. “Learning the national food of Indonesia and it should be able to be a solution to the problem of food of Indonesia. I am the son of farmer, far from the modern life. But with the hard work and the sincerity, it can deliver me into the current state. I am proud to be the son of farmer,” he exclaimed.
 
On this occasion, it was held the common meal event of the analog rice followed by thousands of new students, the Governor of West Java, and the leaders of IPB. The analog rice was the product like rice made from the flour of nusantara using the extrusion technology initiated by the Professor of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology (Fateta) of IPB, Prof.Dr. Slamet Budijanto. The analog rice had the advantage to be able to be specially designed according to the needs, so it was suitable for the diabetics and those who were dieting. Other than that, the analog rice also used 100 percents of the local raw material, so it supported the food security. 
 
Attending this occasion, among others, the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of IPB, Prof.Dr. Yonny Koesmaryono; the President Director of PT. BLST of IPB, Dr. Meika Syahbana Rusli; and the Chairman of Student Executive Board of Student Family (BEM of KM) of IPB, Danang Setiawan. The event was more festive with the attraction of caping wave from thousands of new students. (RF)
