IPB University’s Nutrition Sciences (GIZ) Graduate Study Program (SPs) Holds Nutrition Graduate Writing Camp 2024 to Improve Publication Quality. This activity is part of the Visiting Professors Program funded by the EQUITY Project 2023/2024, which was held in a hybrid and took place at the IPB International Convention Center (ICC) recently.

In this event, Prof Amin Ismail from the Department of Nutrition, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Prof Dodik Briawan, editor-in-chief of the Nutrition and Food Journal and lecturers from the GIZ study program IPB University were invited as speakers, as well as Dr Agr Eny Palupi and Dr Zuraidah Nasution, lecturers at the GIZ Study Program.

The Event began with an opening speech delivered by Prof Katrin Roosita, Chairman of Department of Community Nutrition, Faculty of Human Ecology (FEMA) IPB University. She expressed her gratitude for holding this activity, “We would like to welcome the participants and the speakers who have been willing to share their knowledge and provide material in the Nutrition Graduate Writing Camp 2024 activity,” she said.

Prof Rimbawan, Chairman of the GIZ Study Program explained, Nutrition Graduate Writing Camp 2024 is one of the efforts of IPB University’s Graduate study program to improve the quality of research and scientific publications in the field of Nutrition and Health, “This activity is expected to help Graduate students to produce high-quality and internationally recognized scientific papers,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Rosyanne Kushargina, one of the participants said that this activity is very interesting and beneficial for improving writing skills, “We can learn about effective writing strategies and how to respond to reviewers’ comments, so this knowledge will really help us in completing our final assignment,” she added.

The second day of the Nutrition Graduate Writing Camp 2024 agenda was carried out with the agenda of “one-on-one” review of each journal manuscript prepared by the 15 selected participants, then the third day continued with the collection of manuscripts revised by each participant based on joint input and corrections, and ended with a refreshing visit to the Balai Kirti Presidential Museum of the Republic of Indonesia, which is located at the Bogor Presidential Palace Complex, West Java.

Prof Amin Ismail said that by visiting this Presidential Museum, you can feel the national spirit of all presidents of the Republic of Indonesia who have served and their profiles, “This is my first time visiting this museum and it is very interesting to be here, the figures of past presidents can be an inspiration and role “a model for today’s young generation,” he concluded.
