Dr Arief Daryanto, Dean of IPB University Vocation school was invited to be a speaker in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and Capacity Building in Inter-Regional Input Output (IRIO) on Table Creation in Balahap Hotel, Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan Province.

Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) in Central Kalimantan has been assigned to create the Table of Input and Output (IO) for Central Kalimantan. The FGD was held to socialize the use of IO and IRIO Tables for area development planners and other stakeholders.

In 2019, the government assigned Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) to create The IRIO Table in Indonesia. This table is used to get a more comprehensive picture regarding development and construction in all provinces, including economical gaps between districts. The creation of this table is started by arranging the Supply and Use Table (SUT) then continued with the arrangement of the Table of Input-Output (IO) in each provinces.

According to Dr Arief Daryanto, “The IRIO Table is very helpful in analyzing the impact of policies on specific areas.” With this table, we can see which sectors have potential and added value. Mapping of analytical patterns of trade between areas can also be done easily.

Consequently, Dr Arief Daryanto explains that the IRIO Table can be used as an indicator to determine connections and links between sectors and areas. “Aside from that, The IRIO Table can be used to determine which sectors are strategic in construction development planning. The table can also be used to find multipliers where increase is found on final orders.” Explains Dr Arief.

Aside from being invited as a speaker for the FGD, this IPB University lecturer was also invited as an instructor for the Capacity Building in Penyusunan Tabel IRIO 2019 with participants hailing from provincial Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS), city and regency levels of all of Central Kalimantan Province.
