Yayasan Alumni Peduli IPB University (YAPI) held a concert themed "Charity Orchestra Concert: Voices That Care #2" which was conducted in Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta (11/9). This time, the concert starred Twilitte Orchestra by the composer Addie MS, Vina Panduwinata, Yana Yulio, Students Choir (PSM) Agriaswara IPB University and many other artists. The concert performed 80s songs arranged by the Twilite Orchestra. It successfully collected scholarship funds worth 2.25 billion rupiahs for students in need of IPB University.

In this opportunity the Rector of IPB University, Dr. Arif Satria conveyed the role of IPB University in producing excellent human resources for Indonesia. "I am very grateful for the concert tonight, which I feel is able to make us aware of the importance of education. IPB University has the competence and a very important role in building human resources. During this changing world conditions, IPB University continues to strive to produce superior human resources for Indonesia. IPB University continues to strive to provide a good education for all people," he said.

According to him, there are three key things that make IPB always shines; integrity, innovation, and inspiration of its alumni and students. Therefore, IPB University now has a motto “Inspiring Innovation with Integrity”.

"I really appreciate YAPI's efforts to continue to raise scholarship funds. Indeed, statistically, IPB University students mostly have relatively low economic capacity and many come from underprivileged families. It is the institutional duty to continue to look for sources of scholarship funds. Likewise, IPB University will continue to work with alumni to raise this scholarship. This is important because all Indonesian children are entitled to enter IPB University regardless of their family's economic background. The requirements to enter IPB University are only three, namely having good hard skill, good soft skills, and superior character," he added.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of YAPI, Henry Sunaryadi conveyed several things regarding the importance of this charity concert. He said that this concert was the second before YAPI held the first one last December.

"Now, we are back to raising funds by inviting Indonesian top-class musicians namely Addie MS with the Twilite Orchestra. There is also Vina Panduwinata and our senior at IPB University, Yana Julio. Last year, IPB University accepted new students, of which 53 percent had parents who earn less than three million rupiahs per month. Approximately 20 percent of that number can be supported by Bidikmisi scholarships. The rest is a challenge for YAPI who tries to be a bridge for those who want to reach their dreams even though they come from families who are financially disadvantaged," he said.

The concert was attended by the Minister of Land and Spatial Planning, Sofyan Djalil, Minister of Social Affairs, Agus Gumiwang, Minister of Forestry and Environment, Siti Nurbaya, and the President Directors and Commissioners of other State-Owned Enterprises of Indonesia (BUMN).
