Achievement

Mahtuf Ikhsan, student from Department of Forest Management, Faculty of Forestry, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), participated in International Junior Forest Contest XI 2018 in Moscow, Russia, on September 17th-21st 2018. The event is an annual event organized by The Federal Agency for Forestry and undertaken by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation. Bringing out the theme of development of mahogany leaves as alternative energy for batteries, Mahtuf was granted The Third Winner (Bronze Medal), topped among other 28 participants from all around the World. His innovative idea on was based on the mahogany leaves promising potential as battery energy substitutes and its applicability in Indonesia. Mahtuf as well participated in Taiwan Model United Nation (TWMUN) 2018 on October 26th-27th, 2018. MUN is a student conference with the aim of bringing the negotiations and experience of a real UN conference to life. Academically, we not only aim to simulate the UN and grant our delegates the opportunity to expand their global views and leadership talents, but also cultivate a new generation of young innovators ready to become the present of the future. TWMUN is co-founded by National Chiao Tung University MUN and National Tsing Hua University MUN, and is also meant to symbolize a close cooperation between the two schools in the realm of international affairs. Undergraduate and graduate students gather for three days to discuss, debate, and to solve a variety of current global and local issues. TWMUN brings annually special committees to expand the learning horizons of our delegates. Mahtuf was granted the Outstanding Delegation Award after his performance during the sessions representing United States of America.
