The Directorate of Student Affairs and Career Development, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) again held a Studium Generale Pre-Graduation of IPB Vocational School in Graha Widya Wisuda (GWW) IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor (27/8). The event aims to provide an overview to graduates who will soon enter the workforce.

Rector of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria said that IPB prepared its graduates to be ready to face the competition of the workforce in Indonesia. That's why IPB presents a solution based on a new approach with the development model of IPB as a Techno-Socio Entrepreneurial University which is contained in the IPB 2045 Long Term Plan. firm to the vision and mission of IPB, "he said.

According to him, we are currently in an era full of uncertainty, an era full of fluctuations, an era full of complexity. The graduates are required to be able to adapt to the current situation. Therefore, graduates must prepare what competencies must be possessed in the face of change. For example, must have the ability to think critically. That is able to deal with large flows of information that is very fluid and open. This ability is important to be able to filter and question what things are developing and new that are received. The goal is to avoid victims of false news. The second is creativity. Future competition will be based on creativity. Therefore we must prepare ourselves with high creativity, agility and trengginas.

"All three must have good communication skills. Communication is a capital to be able to convince someone both written and unwritten. So that with good communication we can adapt perfectly. "Fourth is collaboration where we must strengthen a new competency to be able to improve our ability and be able to be with other people," said the Rector.

On the same occasion, Head of Sub Directorate of Career Development, Directorate of Student Affairs and Career Development, Handian Purwawangsa, S.Hut, M.Si explained that IPB continues to strive to shorten the waiting period of graduates in work. There is a new program offered to IPB graduates, which is a program to develop young farmers. In this program IPB graduates are offered and facilitated with training, land, capital, markets, information technology and mentoring.

"So after participating in training the graduates can immediately produce, the market is also prepared and facilitated. So for IPB graduates who want to join and are interested in becoming farmers, they can register in the latest program, which is a program to develop young farmers. So that graduates have no reason not to have land for farming, because 13,000 hectares of land have been prepared in the Bogor area, "he said.

Dean of IPB Vocational School, Dr. Arief Daryanto said that the Vocational School promised to produce skilled, resilient and qualified graduates. Hopefully these promises will be fulfilled by the Vocational School of IPB so that prospective graduates can have a very adequate provision to enter the world of work and industry in our homeland.

"In addition to being skilled, tough and qualified, graduates must also have a responsive spirit, Tanggon and Trengginas. Responding has high intellectual property, and proficient skills and abilities, while Tanggon is having a mindful and energetic mentality that has excellent physical condition in carrying out daily tasks. Hopefully by having that soul, IPB graduates can work very well and create jobs or career in the business or industry, "he said.

Sujino said that his work is only on the land every day and communicating with farmers. "So the graduates don't be afraid to be farmers. Farmer's work is a noble job that can produce food consumed by the whole community. The proof is that although I am a farmer, I can talk and be a resource person in front of everyone who needs motivation about agriculture. Then the Head of Medco Foundation, Roni Pramaditia said that being a successful entrepreneur and young entrepreneur is not easy.
