This  informal meeting was set as part of the Pimnas 29th (the National Student Science Week XXIX) with the theme "Optimizing the Role of the Student Executive Body Toward Achievement Campus to Improve Competitiveness".

The meeting was graced by Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of IPB, Prof.Dr. Yonny Koesmaryono. He stated in his remarks that such informal meeting has been the first for its kind for BEM PT, especially as item in the Program of the Pimnas history. He urged that such meeting should be organized to provide a forum for the executive boards of BEM from various universities and regions to discuss and exchange ideas related to important issues in society and education as one of concern as the younger generation.

At the start of the meeting was the Leadership Workshop, and it was moderated by ex President of BEM PT of IPB, M. Sigit Susanto, SP,  and two speakers to present their presentations were invited namely Ivan Ahda, Chairman of the Youth Forum on "Rethinking about our movement", and Dr. Irfan Syauqi Beik, former Chairman BEM PT of IPB who is now the Head of Business Studies and Economics Sharia (CI-BEST) Institute of Research and Community Empowerment of IPB (LPPM  IPB) on “Idealism and leadership”.

Following the Leadership Workshop was the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on " Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa sebagai Penggerak Prestasi Mahasiswa (= Student Executive Board as motivator for student achievements)". In this discussion, the participants were  divided into 13 groups. Arya Ardiansyah (President of BEM PT of UI) who was selected as the moderator of the discussion set brainstorming among the participants to select topics to be discussed. Then, each group was given approximately 15 minutes to discuss the topic they had selected.

The first FGD Findings and Recommendations are rules and systems to manage the BEM PT to optimize their functions but they are thrive on confidence and achievement.  This are considered necessary, as according to the activists of BEM its President should be the role model for other students. Therefore, as the President of the Executive Body for Students he should be able affect student achievement.

Findings and Recommendations of FGD will be formulated by the drafting teams of IPB and will be submitted to the representatives of Menristekdikti on the closing ceremony of Pimnas 29th. (Wied)
