Thousands of Visitors Go to IPB Job Fair 2015 Thursday, May 28, 2015

Directorate of Career Development and Alumni Relations (DPKHA) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) held a job fair called "IPB Job Fair & International Scholarship Education Expo 2015", on Saturday and Sunday (23-24/5) at Graha Widya Wisuda (Graduation Building), Dramaga Campus. Through this activity, DPKHA IPB tries to facilitate and bring together the interests of the business community as an employers, IPB graduates and other universities.
 
DPKHA-IPB director, Dr. Syarifah Iis Aisyah, in her opening speech, said, IPB continues its efforts to assist the government in reducing the open unemployment in Indonesia, and seeks to increase the absorption of graduates every year. "Although the current economic condition is increasingly difficult, IPB is proud because the absorption of IPB graduates in the job market is still relatively good. A census study by DPKHA IPB in 2014, involving the respondents graduated in 2013, showed more than half (66.24 percent) get a job less than three months. We keep making efforts in order to enable IPB graduates to get jobs faster. Therefore, IPB continues to make improvement by developing cooperation with all agencies and companies so that the absorption of IPB graduates continues to increase each year. Now not less than 450 companies are partners of DPKHA IPB; they are ready to accommodate IPB graduates," she said.
 
Job Fair participants of the first period in the year 2015 involve 39 companies, and 15 institutions are related to education and scholarship from the companies at home and abroad. The job Fair is held regularly twice a year as one of the efforts to reduce the job-waiting period for IPB graduates. Job Fair of this time is combined and equipped with the expo of domestic and international scholarships. The hope is that IPB graduates can work at the same time continue their studies abroad to develop the skill and compete in the international world. Visitors who come to the Job Fair 2015 are estimated to reach 3,500 people. They are graduates of IPB and other universities in Bogor and its surroundings, as well as public participants. (Mtd)
