To get good crops needs the support of the available superior agricultural production inputs, one of which is the supply of high quality seeds. Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) has produced 278 innovations in various fields: agriculture, fisheries, food, and others. Among the innovations that have been produced by IPB are a wide range of varieties in agriculture, such as papaya Callina (IPB 9) and Carissya (IPB 3).

IPB’s support in agriculture is not only in the innovation of superior seeds, but IPB has Agribusiness Development Station (ADS-IPB), which is engaged in the development of agribusiness. Further, through the Directorate of Strategic Studies and Agricultural Policy (Dit. KSKP-IPB), IPB has reviewed and advocated for agricultural issues and created an advocacy model. In this year of 2015, Dit. KSKP IPB in cooperation with the village of Cikeas Udik, Gunung Putri District, Bogor Regency and Qiara Institute has set up "Kebun Bibit Desa” (Rural Seedling Garden) as a model of advocacy for home yard use and increasing farmers’ access to seeds innovated by IPB. This to explore the agricultural potential of Bogor Regency, particularly in the use of home yard by cultivating seeds innovated by IPB. Commodities in this rural nursery are Callina papaya (IPB 9), Carissya papaya (IPB 3) and various types of vegetables developed by ADS-IPB (caisim, pakcoy, chives, cherry tomatoes, eggplant).

This already implemented activity is expected to empower local communities to take advantage of their yards and gardens to realize RW garden. The expected further impact is that people can meet their food needs through the use of the yard, increase income as a result of the optimization of the agricultural sector and meet the needs of local residents for seedlings to support the sustainable development of agriculture.
