Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) in collaboration with Alumni Association (HA) of FPIK of IPB held National Congress of HA of FPIK of IPB with the theme of “Konsolidasi Alumni FPIK IPB Menuju Sinergitas Peran and Kiprah in Pembangunan Perikanan dan Kelautan / Consolidation of Alumni of FPIK of IPB Toward the Synergy of Role and Progress in Fisheries and Marine Development”, Sunday (28/2), in Auditorium of Andi Hakim Nasoetion, Campus of IPB Darmaga, Bogor. FPIK of IPB was the first faculty initiating the education of fisheries and marine sciences in Indonesia. 
 
Chairman of the Committee for National Conference of HA of FPIK of IPB. Dr. Zulhamsyah Imran, said, along with social dynamics, economics, politics, culture and mainstreaming of national development which made the sectors of marine and fisheries as one of the main sectors, then it became a big mandate for all stakeholders engaged in the field of fisheries and marine sciences, including the alumni of FPIK of IPB to play a role in it. The alumni of  FPIK of IPB with thousands and adequacy capacities were expected to contribute significantly to organize and manage the dynamics of the development of the fisheries and marine well, correctly, efficiently, and productively. This was, according to Zulhamsyah, required the role of the entrepreneurs of the alumni of FPIK of IPB.
 
“Based on the dynamics, the National Conference of HA of FPIK of IPB will discuss how shared alma mater hand in aligning step to build a maritime country to rise and to be able to achieve the greatness,” said Zulhamsyah.
 
Rector of IPB, Prof.Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto, said, IPB strongly supported the activities of the National Congress of the Alumni of FPIK of IPB, especially in promoting the love and the alumni devotion to the alma mater of IPB. His hope with this congress, explained the Rector, FPIK of IPB and its alumni could enhance the progress of marine and maritime for the welfare of the people of Indonesia. 
 
While, Dean of FPIK of IPB, Dr. Luky Adrianto, conveyed, as the initiator, FPIK of IPB who started acting since 1963 had graduated thousands of undergraduates of fisheries and marine sciences that contributed to the development of marine sciences and fisheries in Indonesia. The alumni of FPIK of IPB had been recognized both in initiating the establishment of the institutions in the sectors of marine sciences and fisheries, as well as in formulating the development in the sector.
