Students of the Production Technology and Agricultural Community Development (PPP) Study Programme of IPB University Vocational School batch 58 held a “Field School: Online Marketing Strategy” at the Soka Berseri Women Farmers Group (KWT), Sukaraja Village, Bogor Regency on Sunday (5/5).

This Field School activity is a form of service from IPB University students to the community. The activity was in the form of delivering marketing strategy material at the Shopee online store and also making a product photo box (mini studio).

During this time, KWT Soka Berseri has a business product in the form of passion fruit ice. Departing from that, this service activity seeks to popularise the passion fruit ice product, especially through online marketing. In addition to the delivery of material, the students also provided a demonstration of how to create an online store.

The activity was attended by IPB University PPP study programme lecturer Tri Budiarto SKPm, MSi, lecturer assistant Siti Khadijah SP, and members of the Soka Berseri Women Farmers Group (KWT). According to Budiarto, this extension activity is a vehicle for students to achieve the outcomes of the graduate profile, which is to become reliable and innovative agricultural extension workers.

“This kind of counselling will always be held every year in villages or sub-districts around the campus. Hopefully what is done by IPB University students can directly touch what is needed by the community,” she said.

This Field School activity is also expected to have a positive impact on the women of KWT Soka Berseri, especially in terms of online product marketing.

“In the future, hopefully this activity will continue and not stop this year. Because this activity is very useful for KWT mothers,” said Ilma Amalia, Chairperson of KWT Soka Berseri.

Retno as a member of KWT Soka Berseri said, “This event is fun, working together something useful for all of us. It was interesting to learn how to use the system to face this digital era. Because many KWT mothers still do not understand online marketing.”

“We hope our business runs smoothly and can be more widely recognised in the community,” she hoped. (*/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
