LKST IPB University Collaborates with the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises to Organize Entrepreneur Hub Agripreneur

The Science and Technology Regional Institute (LKST) IPB University in collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (Kemenkop UKM) provided training to 150 startups and MSMEs in Jabodetabek in the Entrepreneur Hub Agripreneur activity (8/6).
This training was held with the synergy of various stakeholders, namely the Bogor Regency SME Cooperative Office, the Bogor City Trade and Industry SME Cooperative Service, the Hands Above Community (TDA) and the Indonesia LPDP Entrepreneurs Club (ILEC).
Deputy for Entrepreneurship, Kemenkop UKM, Ir Siti Azizah, MBA said that the Entrepreneur Hub Agripreneur is a step to accelerate the implementation of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 2 of 2022 concerning National Entrepreneurship Development for 2021-2024.
"This year's event is special because it has a special theme in the field of agribusiness which combines agricultural knowledge with entrepreneurial skills. This is in line with Presidential Regulation No. 2 of 2022, which mandates entrepreneurial growth of 3.59 percent in 2024," she said.
Furthermore, she also said that the agricultural sector during 2022 would contribute 12.4 percent to the gross domestic product (GDP) after the industrial sector. In its development, agripreneurs need a sustainable food system, governance of agricultural development and food diversification which are expected to create superior entrepreneurs in the field of agribusiness.
In line with what was conveyed by Siti Azizah, Chief of LKST IPB University, Prof Erika B Laconi explained three important points in producing sustainable entrepreneurs in the agribusiness sector. "First of all we need to create superior entrepreneurs who can be a barometer of economic growth. The second step is an innovation-based product so that it has competitiveness and finally forms a business ecosystem," she said.
Prof Erika emphasized that LKST IPB University as an institution that has the task of downstreaming products and innovations is ready to collaborate with startups and all stakeholders in delivering innovation results with the result that they can be utilized and felt by the community.
The event was attended by Irwansyah Putra as Assistant Deputy for Business Ecosystem Development of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs and Prof Rokhani Hasbullah, Deputy Chief of LKST IPB University in the field of Business Incubators and Industrial Partnerships. This training is a series of dialogue events between the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs and Rector of IPB University with startup tenants of the IPB University Science Techno Park (STP) business incubator which was held on Monday (10/7) in the Startup Center Building, Campus IPB Taman Kencana.
This activity is expected to foster an entrepreneurial spirit so that startups are able to develop and advance and produce products that comply with regulations and distribution permits. It is also hoped that agripreneur as one of the targets of this activity can be one of the efforts to develop the agricultural sector in the regions through optimizing the resources of stakeholders.
