A number of students of IPB University's Innovation Community Service Program (KKN-T) conducted a counseling program on stunting prevention and gadget use in Jatimekar Village, Purwakarta, West Java. The program was named Edukasi Penggunaan Media Digital (Sipedia) and Penyuluhan Risiko Stunting (Parenting).

The material was delivered by Dr Irni Rahmayani Johan as the field supervisor along with Yunita Patrika Permata Wibisono, one of the IPB University KKN-T  Innovation students in Jatimekar Village.

"This counseling was carried out in order to increase public awareness about the importance of balanced nutrition and nutrition intake in order to prevent stunting. On the other hand, we also provide an understanding of the wise use of gadgets," said Dodi Wahyudi, coordinator of KKN-T Inovasi Jatimekar Village during the presentation to local village mothers, recently.

Dodi further added, Sipedia is an educational program about the use of gadgets and their positive and negative impacts, especially for the younger generation in everyday life. Meanwhile, the Parenting program is counseling on the risk of stunting.

"This effort is important to increase public knowledge about the dangers of stunting in children. In addition, this counseling can measure the risks that can occur in children aged 6-12 years in Jatimekar Village," he added.

"I am very happy and helped by the activities carried out by the IPB University Innovation KKN-T students. Because my child often cries when his gadget is not there and very often uses gadgets without knowing the time," said Lilis, one of the participants.

At the end of the event, Novi as the Secretary of Jatimekar Village expressed her gratitude to all parties involved, IPB University lecturers, posyandu cadres, and mothers as participants.

"Thank you also to the students of KKN-T Inovasi IPB University for organizing Sipedia and Parenting activities. We hope that this activity can increase our awareness and knowledge of the importance of education on the use of digital media and prevent the risk of stunting," Novi hoped. (Rafly/Rz) (IAAS/ARD)
