Innovative and Nutritious, IPB University Innovation KKN-T Students Promote the Making of Banana and Spinach PMT Pancakes in Muncanglarang Village

The beautiful scenery in Muncanglarang Village, Bumijawa District, Tegal Regency, Central Java, bears witness to a valuable innovation in the world of health and nutrition. IPB University students enthusiastically carry out the Innovation Real-Thematic Work Lecture (KKN-T) program, which aims to improve the quality of supplementary feeding (PMT) for children in the region.
"The innovation presented by KKN-T Innovation students this time is making PMT in the form of pancakes with the basic ingredients of banana and spinach. The combination of these two natural ingredients was chosen because of its high nutritional content and delicious taste, and children like it. Apart from ensuring that children get nutritious food, using local ingredients also supports the economic growth of the local community," said Amalia Vira Cahyani, one of the IPB University students who is a member of the Innovation KKN-T.
KKN-T Innovation activities do not only focus on making PMT, but also outreach to parents of students at Tunas Bangsa Early Childhood Education (PAUD), Muncanglarang Village. The student team warmly welcomed and shared information with the parents of the students about the importance of providing balanced and nutritious supplementary food for growing children.
"By providing knowledge about the benefits and how to make banana and spinach pancakes as PMT, it is hoped that the parents can play an active role in maintaining the health and development of their children," continued Amalia.
One of the parents, Faranisa, gave a positive response by demonstrating making these pancakes. According to her, banana and spinach pancakes can be an alternative to processed food for children who dislike eating bananas. The parents of other students also responded positively to this activity and asked for similar socialization because it was very useful.
In this joyful activity, 57 PAUD children in Muncanglarang Village received PMT in the form of banana and spinach pancakes from IPB University Innovation KKN-T students. Happy smiles emanated from their little faces while enjoying appetizing pancakes and of course high in nutrition. This joy was not only felt by the children, but also by KKN-T Innovation students, who were satisfied that they could make a positive impact on society as well as hone their skills in the fields of health and nutrition.
This IPB University Innovation KKN-T activity is not just a moment, but a hope for a healthier future for the young generation of Muncanglarang Village. With an innovative spirit and concern for children's nutrition, programs like this can continue to be developed and adopted by the community and local government.
"Collaboration between universities and the community is expected to be a milestone in improving the quality of life and health of children throughout Indonesia," said Amalia. (*/Rz) (IAAS/MFR)
