Baranangsiang Field, (28/5) was filled with no less than 400 statisticians and data scientists across generations. Hundreds of alumni from the Department of Statistics (STK), Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) IPB University from Batch 8 to Batch 55 from undergraduate, masters and doctoral programs gathered, reminisced and mingled with lecturers, education staff (tendik) and Study Program students Statistics and Data Science.

The event was titled One Day with Statisticians and Halal Bihalal Alumni of STK IPB University with the theme 'Statistics One'. Various artistic performances were strung together with unifying chants strung together from morning until midday.

Committee chairman Muhammad Farhan Adeva (STK-58) stated that this event aims to strengthen the relationship between all components of STK IPB University from all generations covering four different eras. During the time when the Department of Statistics, IPB University was still under the Faculty of Agriculture, it became part of FMIPA with a student identification number (NIM) that varied from G1, G03, to G01 again.

"This event is also the culmination of the celebration of the 44th anniversary of the Statistics Student Professional Association, Gamma Sigma Beta (GSB), as well as the Halalbihalal of the STK IPB University extended family," he said.

Head of the Statistics Department of IPB University, Dr. Bagus Sartono stated that it is hoped that a good synergy between alumni and the alma mater will continue to be established to support the development of the Statistics Department. "This synergy and collaboration is important to keep STK IPB University still number one, the best in Indonesia," he stressed.

On the same occasion, Chair of the Statistics Alumni Association (HA) of IPB University Statistics, Sandi Noerzaman (STK-33) added, this event is a joint momentum for alumni to make a real contribution to the Statistics Department of IPB University, as well as real collaboration between alumni and students with a joint committee . This momentum was also an event to return home because alumni from out of town, even outside Java, took the time to attend this event.

One activity at this event was the auction of six books from the personal library collection of the late Prof Andi Hakim Nasoetion which contained the writings and signatures of Mrs. Amini Nasoetion. All of the proceeds from the auction are channelled for scholarships for students who are constrained by single tuition fees (UKT) and study needs.

In the series of events, there was also a talk show presenting several GSB Chairmen from time to time since the GSB was first formed in 1979 until now. Driven by Satrio Wiseno (STK-17) who recounted the progress of GSB at that time up to Akmal Riza (STK-57), the current chairman of GSB. The talk show was continued with a series of lessons by Adityawarman Adil (STK-35).

Also present were the Dean of FMIPA University, Dr Berry Juliandi, General Chairperson of HA, Dr Walneg and Secretary General of HA as well as Director of Alumni Relations of IPB University, Drh Sukma Kamajaya, MM.

In general, the alumni, lecturers, students and students seemed to really enjoy and enthusiastic throughout the event. The strains of comforting songs, a variety of traditional Bogor foods and the door prize draw added a strong flavour so that everyone dissolved as if they didn't want the event to end quickly.
