IPB University Graduate Schools (SPs) explored opportunities for educational collaboration programs through the Faculty Mobility program from the Erasmus program at the University of Reading, United Kingdom (13-17/3). 

Prof. Titi Candra Sunarti, Deputy Dean of SPs IPB University in Resources, Cooperation, and Development said that she discussed the development of a Double Ph.D. Degree (DD Doctoral Program) with the School of Agriculture, Politics, and Development (SPAD) at the University of Reading.

"This scheme makes it possible to hold PhDs remotely, be registered, and get recognition at two universities, both from IPB University and the University of Reading," he said. He added, on the same occasion an opportunity was also explored for the implementation of student exchanges (student exchanges) for credit collection courses (credit earning activities) and summer course programs as well as opportunities for collaborative research and publication activities.

“Thank you for being given the opportunity to visit The Museum of English Rural Life – Reading which tells the history of the development of innovation and technology, as well as society in agriculture in England. Also, the International Cocoa Quarantine Center at Reading University, which according to Prof Paul Hadley has collected 300 types of cocoa plants from all over the world," he added.

This activity was also followed by Prof Lina Karlinasari, Secretary of the Doctoral Study Program in Natural Resources and Environmental Management (PSA Study Program) SPs IPB University. He said, currently SPAD has five departments namely Agri-Food Economics and Marketing, Animal Husbandry, Crop Science, International Development, and Sustainable Land Management. "This work is expected to be immediately followed up by all study programs, both masters and doctorates, related to IPB University," she explained.

Also attended from IPB University were Dr Dase Hunaefi (Assistant Director for Cooperation and International Relations) and Dr. Alfian Helmi and Hana Indriana, SP, MSi (teaching staff from the Department of Science and Community Development, Faculty of Human Ecology). Meanwhile, from the University of Reading, there were Prof Simon Mortimer (Head of SPAD), Prof Henny Osbahr (Head of Department), and Dr Sarah Cardey (Department of International Development).
