IPB University’s Directorate of Strategic Studies and Academic Reputation (DKaSRA) back to held assistance for scientific journals of IPB University, last week at the Dramaga Campus of IPB, Bogor. This time the assistance was carried out for journals that have been nationally accredited with SINTA ratings 3 and 4 which are currently preparing for the re-accreditation process.

The four journals assisted include the Indonesian Agribusiness Journal (Journal of Indonesian Agribusiness), Journal of Nutrition and Feed Technology, Indonesian Jamu Journal, and Business Review and Case Studies.

The Director of KASRA, Prof Anuraga Jayanegara, said the aim of implementing this mentoring activity was to help IPB University journals which are currently SINTA accredited with ratings 3 and 4 in optimizing their quality. This activity is also included in the re-accreditation preparation process so as to achieve a higher accreditation rating, namely SINTA 2.

“Not only honesty, but now we are shifting towards the quality of scientific journals. The strategy is gradual. So after mentoring journals that have not been accredited some time ago, now we are pushing for an increase in the quality of accredited journals so that they can get a higher rating than before,” explained Prof Anuraga.

According to him, DKaSRA is committed to overseeing the process of improving the quality of scientific journals at IPB University, including in the SINTA re-accreditation process. The hope is that the review and input of sources in this mentoring activity can maximize the preparation of re-accreditation submissions up to the fourth journal present to increase the national accreditation rating.

Mentoring activities are organized by the organizers of each journal. The agenda consisted of presenting the progress of each journal regarding readiness to carry out the SINTA re-accreditation process. The event continued with reviews and assessments from the speakers, namely Dr Iman Rusmana.

Discussions between journal managers and resource persons took place actively and conducively where journal managers submitted a number of questions regarding the constraints experienced during the planning process for submitting re-accreditation which were then given solutions and alternative solutions by Dr Iman.
