The Rector of IPB University appointed 117 structural officials to occupy the positions head of institution, deputy head of institution, deputy head of agency, assistant director, head of sections, head of field, deputy head of field, supervisor and head of administration.

On this occasion, Prof Arif invited the appointed officials to become leaders of change.  "Congratulations to all of you who were appointed. Congratulations on starting a new assignment to contribute to advancing IPB University," said Prof Arif while giving a speech for inauguration ceremony at the Grha Widya Wisuda Building, Dramaga Campus IPB, Bogor, 21/3.

He hoped that the structural officials who were appointed could provide meaning of change for IPB University.  "I am sure that you are the chosen people to realize the vision of IPB University as a techno-socio entrepreneurial university campus," he said.

"We can be more successful so that we can provide the best possible meaning for the future of IPB University.  Proud to be part of the future.  We face many new jobs, be fast learners, agile learners, so you can become leaders of change," he said.

On that occasion, he described three types of working people.  First, work because of status.  This first type of peoe, the impact of change is not important.  Second, people who work because of a career.  According to the Rector, this type of person will want to continue to improve their performance for career success.

“Third, there are people working because of a call.  People with this type of work according to their conscience, and love what they do.  They work with heart and soul," he said.

Therefore, Prof. Arif hopes that the appointed officials will actively have great spirit and love what they are doing.  Work wholeheartedly and work harder than anyone else.

However, according to him, the number one thing is honesty.  Equally important is discipline, working according to the rules and being able to establish good relationships with other people.  (dh/Rz) (IAAS/BKU)
