Student of the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) IPB University, Rahmat Zuhair won 3rd place in the Guidance & Counseling Fest National Essay Contest at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, Banten, recently. In the competition which was participated by students from various universities, Zuhair wrote an essay entitled "Superior Genes (Gen U): Means of Guidance and Counseling through the Official Account Line with the Gestalt Approach".

"Gen U is expected to be a medium for students and students who incidentally often use Line to be able to simultaneously conduct online counseling with qualified counselors in their fields," explained Zuhair, student recipient of the Affirmation of Disadvantaged Areas, Frontier, Outermost (3T).

The idea of making Gen U emerge because of his anxiety towards the behavior of students and students who do not yet know the purpose of life going forward. He also saw that there were many students who were stressed by practicum reports and lecture assignments so that they needed a companion to maintain a stable psychological condition.

"I am very pleased to be able to take part in offering ideas related to innovation counseling guidance in this 4.0 era. Even though I am an economics student, I did not rule out the possibility of being able to compile an essay on guidance and counseling," explained Zuhair.

He claimed that the making of Gen U was the result of the learning process since he was in the General Competency Education Program (PPKU) of IPB University, which at that time the learning system was still comprehensive.

Zuhair conveyed during the competition that there were challenges that needed to be faced and resolved, especially in defining the terms that exist in guidance and counseling. According to Rahmat, this challenge can be overcome by reading a lot of journals related to counseling in the IPB Repository or other credible sources.

"I hope that the innovation of Gen U on Line can make students and students more concerned about their psychological health and also not use the time to make Line media as a medium to talk about the badness of others and mere joke," Zuhair concluded. (NR)
