Chancellor of IPB University Released Graduates with a Plane Riddle
As many as 800 IPB University students graduated on Wednesday (10/30) at the Grha Widya Wisuda Building (GWW), Bogor Dramaga Campus of IPB. The graduation ceremony was opened with a poem by the Rector of IPB University, Prof. Arif Satria
“Airplanes pierce clouds; Turbulence when flying is common; Today I see the graduates; I will meet the leaders of the nation in twenty years. ”
In the second phase of graduation in Academic Year 2019/2020, this program included undergraduate education, professional education for veterinarians, masters and doctors. Existing data, there were 589 graduates of Bachelor programs, 22 graduates of Veterinary Professional Education programs, 158 graduates of Masters programs, and 31 graduates of Doctoral programs. Until graduation at this stage, IPB University had 161,798 alumni spread across Indonesia and the world.
In his remarks, the Chancellor of IPB University congratulated all the graduates and hoped that the graduates could make the name of IPB University proud after graduation. On this occasion the Chancellor of IPB University also provided graduates with the skills needed to answer future challenges in the world of work.
Prof. Arif Satria said, the spirit of integrity, innovation and inspiration is the key to the success of IPB University today and in the future. According to him, integrity is the basis of today’s key pyramid of success. Integrity also reflects the determination and consistency of IPB University in carrying out the values of the tri dharma of higher education.
The emergence of new innovations is a tangible form of the latest thoughts of the IPB University academic community for this nation. Through this innovation, the works of IPB University in the future will always be an inspiration for people’s lives to become better. Therefore, IPB University rebranding the name of IPB University in English and a new tagline namely Inspiring Innovation with Integrity in Agriculture, Ocean and Bioscience for a Sustainable World.
“IPB 4.0 Education Program is designed to equip students with a skill set that will strengthen talent. Thus, the graduates become agile, resilient, and adaptive with the changes that exist as a generation of Tomorrow People, “said IPB University lecturer from the Faculty of Human Ecology.
The main purpose of the application of IPB 4.0 education, continued the Rector of IPB University, is that IPB graduates become powerful agile learners. In IPB 4.0 Millennial Education, the form of the policy adopted by IPB is to reorient the curriculum, harmonize the learning process, including online lectures, opening international classes, developing scholarships and new professions, and opening the Student Council Chairperson since 2018.
The Professor in the field of Political Ecology added, until now IPB University has given birth to the concept of agro-maritime 4.0, the Agro-maritime 4.0 research roadmap and the collection of thought of IPB University lecturers in book 4.0. This innovation delivered IPB University as the most prospective contributor to the Business Innovation Center version by 39.65% of the total innovations in Indonesia. Included in this is IPB University being the largest contributor to the number of patents in Indonesia. IPB University also recently inaugurated Tani Center for farmers, planters and fishermen so that they can learn from each other and consult with complete facilities.
“I hope the graduates have sky-high ideals and dreams to get a bright future. As Ir Soekarno once said that “Hang your dreams sky high! Dream as high as the sky.
