IPB University is in the midst of holding an Academic Workshop as a form of the direction of regulations and implementation plans, therefore, are in need of a multilevel curriculum reorientation. Under the theme ‘IPB Education 4.0 Socialization and Pre-Workshop-K2020’. This socialization is not only for curriculum reorientation, but also in designing the applications as supporting facilities of the academic information system which will bridge the class information and the participants through the daring lecture application.

The Academic Workshop was held at the Toyib Hadiwijaya Auditorium, (28/7). The focus of the academic workshop was to harmonize the educational process offered by IPB University towards the dynamic changes and demands of the era by controlling and correcting the structure of the curriculum and the learning process, re-correcting and re-organizing the competency plans and managing the distribution of the learning outcomes by integrating groups of hard-skills and soft-skills in a professional manner. This the event was participated by the head of departments and their secretaries, all the lecturers and educational staff of the Faculty of Agriculture.

This socialization was presented by Dr. Ir. Drajat Martianto, M.Sc, The Vice-Rector of the Educational and Student Division and Ir. Lien Herlina, M.Sc, the Director of the Development Program and Educational Technology of IPB University as the keynote speakers.

Within the discussion such as the presentation by Dr. Drajat is that the goals of the IPB 4.0 education among others are foundational literacies, competencies, character qualities, and these things are not always obtained from a class lecture. Therefore this accommodates the development of the 21st-century competency in obtaining superior intellectuals and facilitating an ecosystem for personal growth.

 In Ir. Lien Herlina, M.Sc ‘s presentation, the accompaniment period and student supervision were discussed to start since the first semester until they graduate and will be the responsibility of the department. “Student portfolio will be documented since the first semester under the supervision of the department's supervision,” explained Lien.

The discussions further discussed the methods on how to know the goal of the lecture plans of the General Competency Educational Program (PPKU) with several goals, objectives, and skills. Meanwhile, those four goals are to motivate the life-long interest in learning to be a strong learner, widen the horizon of mindset to become an agile learner, strengthen the desire to be the best, and strengthen national character.

The event was closed by a discussion moderated by Dr. Suwardi, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Nurhayati, the Vice Dean of the Academic and Student Divison of the Faculty of Agriculture as the master of ceremony. Various suggestions related to the change in curriculum and learning methods were noted by the Faculty of Agriculture IPB University to achieve the best quality. (AVR)
