IPB Hosted Australian Students on Agricultural-Cultural Short Course

Group of international students from Australia participated in short lectures and field practices series at Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) within newly-launched collaborative program entitled “Agricultural Professional Practicum (APP)”. Students who are members of the Australian Consortium for Indonesian Country Studies (ACICIS) will study broad range of agricultural studies for two weeks. This program opening was held on January 4th, 2019 and led by Director of International Program—Prof. Dr. Iskandar Zulkarnain Siregar at IPB Darmaga Campus, Bogor. During these courses students will conduct intensive internships in several professional units including companies and government institutions. Prof. Iskandar conveyed that this course indicates IPB’s readiness on implementing various partnership programs, thus it is expected to boost mobility traffic of students and staffs between Indonesia and Australia. Meanwhile, Mr. Michael Sheehy—ACISIS Academic Program Officer declared this new program is as well the initiator on agricultural field hence IPB became just the right place-to-go. IPB units where students will partake include Agribusiness Development Station (ADS) and Bogor Life Science and Technology (BLST), aside of number of selected NGOs (non-governmental organizations). Students also will explore Indonesian language classes, agriculture related seminars, Indonesian agricultural products, tropical agriculture and agricultural business.
