IPB Greets Freshmen from the Scholarship of Regional Representative from 46 Partner Sposnors

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) greeted the freshmen of Batch 55 from the Scholarship of Regional Representatives (BUD), Monday (26/9) at IPB Dramaga Campus. The total of freshmen from this scholarship in the year 2018 is around 140 students which all come from 46 partner sponsors. The Head of Subdit Partnership, Directorate of Partnerships and Alumni Relations IPB, Dr. Drh. Fadjar Satrija, M.Si in his speech announced that this reception of BUD students is in other means a special lane for partnership between IPB and parners, so that the young generation of regional areas are able to obtain higher education in IPB, which has been hard to reach through other reception lanes. “The young generation as representatives of our region are expected that after they graduate they will return and give some contribution towards their own regions. This event is being participated by 88 students from the total number of BUD students batch 55. A few of our students could not come due to a clash in their schedules with other activities,” said Dr. Fadjar.
During this oppurtunity, BUD IPB team also gave an explanation about the BUD system, the academic rules and a pictorization of campus life in IPB. This explanation was expected to give needed information towards the BUD students of batch 55, so that their studies in IPB go smoothly. This explanation about BUD was explained by the Sekretariat BUD, Ribka Puji Raspati. Then was continued by a QnA session which was lead by the Secretary of BUD Team, Fachiani Budi Astuti, SP, MM. During this discussion session many of the students were enthusiastic about asking on many things such as Grade Point Average (IPK), the agreement between IPB and sponsors, study period, and even on how students should increase their self confidence so that the can quickly adapt to university life in IPB.
The event was liven up by students who gained achivements from IPB Art Contest (IAC) from the dangdut contest which were Rizki Rahmalia and Fero. The dangdut show created an uproar amongst the students. Next their was a band performance from UK MAXX! IPB, which consisted of a few students from 51 and 52, and also from Aksara Band from batch 54. The perforamances were in means to become examples for the new students that being a student in IPB also meant that you are still capable of being creative in non academic fields such as art. (AVR)
