Rector of the Bogor Institute of Agriculture (IPB), Dr. Arif Satria will provide incentives that worth 20 million rupiah to IPB researchers who are able to publish their research into international journals with Quartile 1 (Q1). This was conveyed by the Rector when IPB became the organizer of the Joint Convention of The Asia Pacific Association of Medical Journal Editors and the 5th Asian Science Editors Conference & Workshop 2018, at the IPB International Convention Center (IICC), Bogor (18/7).

"Hopefully with the incentive of additional incentives, this year can penetrate 1000 research articles that enter international journals. This is an important moment for researchers, because with collaboration will strengthen each other. Participants present today are representatives of researchers from 22 countries. IPB researchers can learn from various parties because now we live in the era when we no longer compete but collaborate. Hopefully in the future Indonesia can be a source of scientific journals that can be referred by world-class researchers, "said Rector.

Previously Dr. Muhammad Dimyati, Director General of Research and Development at the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) of RI in his speech said that the current government prefers to improve the quality of research.

"Indonesia is welcoming the industrial revolution 4.0. Inevitably. we must improve the quality and quantity of research in Indonesia. The research will be recognized by the community and approved if they communicate through the journal. There are learner level and reputable journals. This meeting is one of the efforts to increase 51 thousand more journals in Indonesia to be more qualified, "said Dr. Muhammad Dimyati during a press conference with the media. Furthermore, in 2019, it is targeted that 7300 journals in Indonesia must have been accredited. There are 6 grades of journal accreditation.

According to Dr. Muhammad Dimyati, the networking from this activity can be used to improve the quality of the journal by Indonesian researchers in the future. Potential journal writers in Indonesia each year are 151 thousand.

"Imagine from 51 thousand before, there are only 39 journals scopus indexed. The journal mechanism, cannot be many journals from all Indonesia. This means, a lot of our publications are scrambling published in international journals, "said Dr. Muhammad Dimyati.

Chairman of the Organizing Committee who is also the Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Scientific Editor (HEBI), Dr. Komang G Wiryawan said that this event involving 250 participants from 22 countries, namely Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, UK, America, China, Australia and various countries in Asia Pacific.

This activity is a collaboration between the Council of Asian Science Editors (CASE) and the Asia Pacific Association of Medical Journal Editors (APAME) for the first time jointly held in Indonesia. The organizers are IPB, HEBI and Kemenristekdikti RI.

Through these conferences and workshops, it is expected that there will be significant journal quality improvements in the Asia-Pacific region. The goal is to attract high-quality researchers to publish their research results in scientific journals in the Asia-Pacific region.

"In addition, we want to make the Asia-Pacific researchers proud to publish their research results in our own journals. To that end, we invite experts from different areas of expertise to become speakers in order to share about the quality improvement strategy of the journal.
