IPB Inaugurates New Dormitory of Leadership and Agricultural Supporters Cadre
Directorate of Student Affairs and Career Development of Bogor Agricultural University held an inauguration ceremony of the Dormitory of Leadership and Agriculture Supporters Cadre in IPB Dramaga Campus, (4/6).
The future residents of the dormitory are 50 high-achieving activists from IPB. There were originally 160 applicants, but only 50 were selected. These residents, who come from various academic and organizational backgrounds, are expected to become the young pioneers of IPB to actualize IPB vision, especially in the agricultural sector.
IPB Rector, Dr. Arif Satria, signed the stone inscription and gave the room key to the representative of students. This symbolized the capability of the dorm to be lived in officially. Dr. Arif congratulated all students that were chosen to live in this Leadership Dormitory.
"Other campuses praised IPB in regards to IPB's innovation and leadership regeneration, especially IPB's innovation which opened a student admission through Head of Student Body (Ketua OSIS) selection. This Leadership Dormitory also became a breakthrough to create future leaders," he said.
Dr. Arif added that IPB had a vision to become a campus that can create young sociopreneur by an early potential mapping. The dorm residents are expected to be catalyst for that vision. In this inauguration, IPB also invited former IPB activists, namely Dr. Ahmad Muchlis Yusuf, currently assigned as Vice Head of Board of Trustees IPB, and Naufal Mahfudz, M.Sc, currently served as General and Human Resources Director of BPJSKetenagakerjaan.
Dr. Naufal stated that leadership in Industry 4.0 era is dominated by millennial generation. The characteristic of millennial generation is technology literate and quick in action but difficult to control. Millennials work by passion. They become more productive when they do something based on what they want.
"The leadership challenges always change. We did not even imagine this current condition in the past, because future is now. It depends on how we maximize potentials and today's opportunities," he said.
In addition, Dr. Ahmad Mukhlis Yusuf said that dream and action were inevitable in leadership process. Dream without action is a utopia. Action without dream is directionless action. Direktorat Kemahasiswaan dan Pengembangan Karir Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) menggelar acara peresmian Gedung Asrama Kepemimpinan dan Kader Pejuang Pertanian di Kampus IPB Dramaga, (4/6).
Penghuni Asrama Kepemimpinan nantinya adalah 50 aktivis prestatif terpilih IPB dari 160 pendaftar. Mereka berasal dari berbagai latar belakang keilmuan dan aktivitas kampus yang harapannya dapat menjadi pionir muda IPB dalam mewujudkan visi IPB ke depan khususnya di bidang pertanian.
Rektor IPB, Dr. Arif Satria menandatangani batu prasasti dan menyerahkan kunci kamar kepada perwakilan mahasiswa. Ini menjadi simbol penanda bahwa asrama kepemimpinan secara resmi telah dapat dihuni oleh mahasiswa aktivis terpilih. Dr. Arif mengucapkan selamat kepada seluruh mahasiswa yang terpilih untuk tinggal di Asrama Kepemimpinan ini.
“Kampus lain mengapresiasi IPB terkait inovasi dalam regenerasi kepemimpinan. Khususnya inovasi IPB yang membuka jalur penerimaan melalui seleksi Ketua OSIS. Asrama Kepemimpinan ini juga menjadi inovasi dan gebrakan IPB dalam mencetak pemimpin-pemimpin masa depan,” ujarnya.
Dr. Arif menambahkan bahwa IPB memiliki visi menjadi kampus pencetak sociopreneur muda melalui pemetaan sejak dini. Diharapkan penghuni asrama ini dapat menjadi pengisi terwujudnya visi IPB tersebut.
Dalam peresmian ini, IPB menghadirkan aktivis-aktivis mahasiswa IPB di masa lampau yakni Dr. Ahmad Muchlis Yusuf yang saat ini menjabat sebagai Wakil Ketua Majelis Wali Amanat IPB dan Naufal Mahfudz, M.Sc yang saat ini menjabat sebagai Direktur Umum dan Sumberdaya Manusia BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.
Dr. Naufal menyampaikan bahwa kepempimpinan di era industri 4.0 didominasi oleh generasi millenial. Karakteristik millenial adalah melek teknologi, cepat dalam bertindak namun cenderung sulit diatur. Millineals bekerja berdasarkan passion. Semakin produktif ketika mereka melakukan sesuatu berdasarkan apa yang mereka inginkan.
“Tantangan kepemimpinan selalu berubah. Kondisi saat ini bahkan tidak terbayangkan di masa lalu. Karena, future is now. Tinggal bagaimana kita memaksimalkan potensi dan kesempatan yang hadir hari ini,” ujarnya.
Sementara itu, Dr. Ahmad Mukhlis Yusuf mengatakan bahwa dream dan action adalah suatu keniscayaan dalam kepemimpinan. Mimpi tanpa aksi adalah utopia. Aksi tanpa mimpi adalah tindakan tanpa arah. Merancang mimpi dan membicarakan mimpi adalah keindahan dari masa depan itu sendiri.
Ia berpesan kepada penghuni asrama kepemimpinan agar menjadi seorang performer yaitu pemimpin yang memberikan kontribusi terbaik di ranah yang mereka pimpin. “Jadilah orang yang berkompetensi secara bertanggung jawab,” katanya.
Peresmian gedung ini juga dihadiri Wakil Rektor Bidang Pendidikan dan Kemahasiswaan, Dr. Drajat Martianto; Direktur Kemahasiswaan dan Pengembangan Karir, Dr. Alim Setiawan Slamet, para dekan dan wakil dekan fakultas serta Presiden Mahasiswa IPB, Qudsy Ainul Fawaid.(FI/Zul) Designing dream and talking about dream is a beauty of the future itself. The inauguration of the new dormitory was also attended by Vice Rector For Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Drajat Martianto; Director Of Student Affairs And Career Development, Dr. Alim Setiawan Slamet, Deans, Vice Dean of various faculties, and Student President of IPB, Qudsyi Ainul Fawaid.
