IPB Presents Purnabhakti for The Great Teacher

“The Great Teacher” is the suitable title for this one of a kind Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) Professor. Inspiring human works for Indonesia development is Prof. Dr. Ir. Hidayat Syarief, MS. His faithful to IPB he marks since he is the Head of Community Nutrition and Family Resources Department (GMSK) Faculty of Agriculture in 1985.

As his amazing dedication, Prof Hidayat releases great generations from bachelor, master, and doctoral works in many national and international institution.

On his period, Prof. HIdayat represents Indonesia as one of the 30 food and nutrition sector experts in the world to be fellow on The Kellogg International Fellowship Program  in Food System period 1986 – 1989. He earns title Professor of Community Nutrition and Family Resources IPB in 1997.

Now Prof Hidayat is in his retirement period. As the appreciation for his amazing dedication, Community Nutrition Department IPB inisiate appreciation event for Prof Hidayat Syarif in IPB International Convention Centre (IICC), (9/5). This program has full support from IPB Alumni under guidance by Prof HIdayat Syarief.

Prof. Dr. Ikeu Tanziha as the Chief of Committee delivers this program brings about achievement of Prof. HIdayat role in developing nutrition sciences in IPB.

“Prof. HIdayat Syarief has very important role in developing nutrition science, not only for IPB but also for Indonesia. His guidance many become professors. This event is our present from us for his guidance and his inspiration for us all this time. Although his eyes condition is not well anymore, but his logical thinking is still going on. Moreover, we hope he is healthy and have a blessed journey of life. We hope as his guidance make him as the example of visionary and systematic way of thinking, also his example behavior,” she says.

Head of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria says Prof. Hidayat makes many historical things and gives benefit to people about cadres, education, also developing Indonesia generally.

“Until now, Community Nutrition become one of the important sector by government. He is The Great Teacher inspiring and giving opportunities to people around him to work and to achieve everything. He is full of wisdom, never gets anger, always smiles and calm as the Human Ecology Faculty Senate in IPB,” Dr. Arif Satria says.

We hope we all can make him as example in knowledge grandeur and amazing dedication of Prof Hidayat Syarif. (NR)
