Students of Ciamis and Banjar Expressed Their Interest to Study into IPB Through Forum “Aku Masuk IPB 2018” –
Organisasi Mahasiswa Daerah (OMDA Regional Student Organization) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) originally of from Ciamis and Banjar, or Paguyuban Mahasiswa Galuh Ciamis and Banjar IPB (PMGCT) organized IPB Goes to School (IGTS). Items of the Program planned for this event included roadshow for the socialization of academic and non-academic excellence IPB to 18 to Senior High Schools (SMA) and Madrasah Aliyah (MA) in Ciamis and Banjar. The event was held on 16 -24 January 2018.
This activity was attended by 1,620 students students of XIIth (the twelfth) grade of science classes, and 20 counseling teachers from all SMA and MA in Ciamis and Banjar.
"The socialization program on IPB to our High School had aroused my interested to pursue my higher degree program in IPB. Presentation of the material was easy to understand so that information on IPB Campus was easily understood. I want to study in IPB majoring in Communication Studies, because I want to develop my talent, "said Ja'far Sidiq from SMAN 1 Kawali.
Similar statement was also stated by Annisa. "After attending the socialization program carried out by PMGC + IPB, I have clear illustration on academic and non-academic data on IPB so I am interested to study there. I hope I will become one of new students of cohort 55th of IPB," said Annisa Salsabila from SMAN 1 Kawali.
The High Schools attended the Roadshow were also very enthusiastic to learn on the program carries out by PMGC + IPB. Pak Encek, one of the Guardian of XIIth IPA Class in MA Ibadul Gofur said that many students of this region are hampered to continue into their higher learning institutions as they do not get enough information such institutions.
"Students who are members of OMDA PMGC + IPB presented important information and everything related to college entrance information can be asked. But the most commonly asked was about the selection methods for the new intakes of IPB. The University will accept its prospective students from the regular selection methods such as the National Selection of State University Entrance (SNMPTN) and Joint Selection Line for State Universities (SBMPTN), IPB Talent Test (UTMI), Beasiswa Utusan Daerah (BUD Regional Achievement Scholarship), and International and National Achievement (PIN). And currently IPB will invite the Chairman of OSIS of High Schools to study into IPB. In addition, the High School students also inquired the cost of everyday life as a student of IPB, "said Pak Encek.
The most interesting things for this year's IGTS implementation, many more students are interested in studying into IPB, therefore PMGC + IPB has established the forum for them named "AKUMASUKIPB2018" as a forum to motivate students studying into IPB. (Wied)
