Plenary Session for Ratifying Rector Candidate (BCR) of IPB

The Academic Senate of the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) organized the  Plenary Session for ratifying Rector Candidate (BCR) of IPB for period of 2017-2022 at the Academic Senate Level. The meeting will also approve the Long Term Plan of IPB for the period 2019-2045. The event was carried out in Senate Meeting Room of Andi Hakim Nasoetion Building, IPB Campus, Dramaga, Bogor, on 2 August 2017.

Chairman of the Academic Senate of IPB, Prof. Dr. Tridoyo Kusumastanto, stated that the Academic Senate of IPB has received from the Board of Trustees (MWA) IPB as much as 24 (twenty four) BCR. Furthermore, the Academic Senate of IPB agreed to ratify the 24 rector candidates in the meeting.

He said that the Academic Senate will soon to select the 6 (six) out 24 (twenty four) BCR, and finally will select the best 3 (three) Rector Candidates (CR) out of 6 (six) who were selected by Academic Senate. The best 3 (three)  Rector Candidates (CR) then will be submitted back to MWA IPB. The Academic Senate recommended and has also been submitted in an official letter the MWA that the BCRs who are members of the Academic Senate, are required to take leave of absence. The leave is relating to BCR activities, in order to avoid any conflict of interest.

Not only that, Prof. Tridoyo said that authorized BCR officials, such as the Dean, are authorized to signing the certificates, checks related to finances, conduct state ceremonial activities, other state protocols, signing agreements on behalf of IPB which have been initiated before, and other strategic activities, they won’t cause conflicts of interest.

On this special occasion also agreed for applying the official procedure to Public Announcement regarding the Rector of IPB Election. Any form of announcement related to BCR without any logo of the Rector Election Committee will be considered invalid. Official announcements are on the MWA umbrella and the Rector Election Committee.

Yet,  Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto, submitted IPB Long Term Plan 2019-2045, the important thoughts documents to the MWA. This important Plan to be utilized as  guiding reference for BCR to develop IPB in the future. (Wied)
