The TAFISA World Sport for all Games is TAFISA’S Flagship event, held every four years in different  location. The TAFISA (Trim And Fitness International Sport for All Association) Games is a week-long spectacular display of colour, dance, sports, culture, peace, friendship and fun. The Games festival offers a voyage of discovery around the globe, as delegations from every corner of the world showcase their Traditional Sports and Games (TSG), as well as unique and interesting modern sports (extreme, beach and new sports are just some examples), and participate in international championships. TAFISA Games are held every four years. A total of 87 countries and 29 provinces competed in the event. The TAFISA became an event and momentum for the gathering of the world community to exercise and see that the foundation of sport is really fostered from traditional sports and recreational sports, such as Hadang, Dagongan and so on.

Hadang or Gobak Sodor is a traditional game in Indonesia which consists of two teams and one of a team attacked each other to through the absolute line. The game is very easy to play. The game is carried in the field of about 15 m x 9 m, to make 5 lines consist of 4 vertical and 1 horizontal lines, where each vertical line 4.5 x 5 meter long and 9 meter long horizontal split right down the vertical line. The game is played by 2 groups (each group consist of 5 people). One group being a linesman and the other group try to cross from first line to the last line and go back. 4 linesman players keep the vertical lines and one linesman player guard the horizontal player. It is generally played by a team of eight members, five core and three spare players. The value assignment is taken from any player who made it past the front line until the backline was rated one, and the player who also made it past the back line up to the front line was rated one. You will have to run as fast as possible if necessary during this game and always be on guard to achieve victory, so it will make you sweat and healthy. Now we know that Gobak Sodor is a very good game to play, call your friends and try it yourself!

Dagongan is a traditional sports game that uses a bamboo with a certain size as a tool to pit the power to encourage each other between the team with another team. This traditional sports game is the opposite of the game of tug of war. Game of thrust, the two teams push each other hard to find victory. The Dagongan field, is rectangular size 2 m x 18 m and the length bamboo used is 5 m to 8 meter with diameter 12 cm – 18 cm. Participants are declared winners, if one team can beat another team with a score of 2 – 0 or 2 – 1 (in case of a draw).

"The sportive competition made us feel drain and loss of energy, as we had to complete  matches within two days. From the qualifying matches into  the final. IPB female team played concurrently in two games and both had passed up to final party. So you can imagine we lost much of our energy to win the competition. Fun really, the game made our sweat and healthy, but happy to pay tribute to our beloved institution, IPB, "said Puput.

Puput said, the most unforgettable moment was the training sessions prepared for the games. The exercises were carried out  after the classes were over, i.e. after the maghrib until late at night. Especially when the  night wind blew, we were unable to resist the pressure in all directions of the cold dense air it was time for us to terminate the exercises. "Therefore, the female team of IB were easily proceeded to the final party, really unexpected," she said gratefully.

The motivation for Puput and her friends to participate in this TAFISA Games 2016 was to maintain  and develop the culture of the nation, especially traditional sports of Indonesia. There are various things that we can learn from playing these traditional games Gobak Sodor and Dagongan. We all can have fun by playing this game. We can make new friends too. It’s better than playing video games in your room all day. Why we need to preserve this traditional game? Because this game is originally from Indonesia, so we must conserve the uniqueness of Indonesia. Therefore, as university students, we were motivated to improve the quality and ability in playing traditional games that had previously been compared between universities. As we are not sure whether we will have similar golden opportunity  to play traditional games in front of the international public, it was the golden opportunity to practice the games. "We are really proud off to  represent IPB in this international event, as it is our effort to help IPB to assist the government to preserve and develop the traditional games and culture. Hopefully IPB will continue to support traditional sports players, "he added with enthusiasm. (Wied)
