Tropical Biopharmaca Research Center (PSB Trop), Institute for Research and Community Services (LPPM), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) held “Pelatihan TLC Fingerprint Analysis untuk Identifikasi, Diskriminasi Autentikasi Tumbuhan Obat / Training on TLC Fingerprint Analysis for Identification, Discrimination of Authentification of Medicinal Plant”. The event was held in the Building of PSB Trop, Campus of IPB Taman Kencana, Bogor, Wednesday-Thursday (7-8/9).
Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Wulan Tri Wahyuni, said, this training was regularly held by PSB Trop to help the herbal medicine industry in detecting the herbal medicine quality which would be the market product. Other than that, it was also intended to detect the content and the benefit contained in the herbal medicine to obtain the maximum yield and quality.
This event was also in the framework of dissemination and shared the information to the community related to the quality, the efficacy and the safety of the herbal medicine. “This is our commitment to continue to develop the knowledge in maintaining the herbal medicine quality,” she said.
She added by the fingerprint method, the chemical and metabolic profiles could be reflected, so that it would be seen if it was done the forgery. With this fingerprint method, all compounds could emerge and be seen.
The participants of the training came from Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII), DEXA Company, Phapros Company, Universitas Trilogi, Universitas Mataram, and Tropical Horticulture Research Center (PKHT) of LPPM of IPB.(dh)
