More than 300 students, including international students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) participated in the introduction-to-Faculty activity in Lecture Room A of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Darmaga Campus of IPB Bogor (29/8). This is intended to introduce them to the veterinary profession and the activities and achievements of FKH-IPB, as well as to enhance their spirit of learning.

Vice Dean of Academic and Student Affairs of FKH of IPB, DVM. Agus Setiyono, MS, PhD, APVet said that FKH is much needed, given that Indonesia still widely uses traditional methods of  animal rearing with a risk of spreading animal diseases to humans. This is in line with the motto FKH IPB "Aligning the harmony between the health of animals, humans and the environment (one health)". He also reminded that the purpose of education in FKH IPB is to establish a veterinarian, not only a graduate of veterinary medicine.

On this occasion, the participants received profession material from DVM. A Gustav Mueller, a graduate of FKH-IPB who has worked as a veterinarian. He gave motivation and learning strategies in IPB and stresses that what you look for later on jobs is happiness, and then success is sure to come. In addition, participants also got educational guidance from the Education Commission of FKH, DVM. Titik Sunartatie, MS who described the learning outcomes, rules and regulations in FKH IPB as well as the introduction to the Student Organizations (LK) and student activities by the Chairman of Student Organization of FKH-IPB.

In order to introduce FKH-IPB closer, participants are invited to take "Tour de FKH and RSHP (Educational Animal Hospital)" in which the new students are introduced to the facilities of the Hospital such as Vetshop, treatment rooms and pharmacists as well as the functions and activities in RSHP-IPB. They are also introduced to the buildings around FKH and laboratories and shown around the Reproductive Rehabilitation Unit (URR) of IPB. (Mtd)
