IPB was Ready to Cooperate with South Nias District

Rector of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Prof.Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto, and Regent of South Nias, Dr. Hilarius Duha, signed a Memorandum of Understanding, Friday (3/6), in IPB International Convention Center (IICC), Bogor.  
 
The Regent of South Nias conveyed that his desire to cooperate with IPB among others in order to support the nawacita that became the target of the President of RI. He said, in South Nias District a lot of potential which should be exported, but the existing potential was not maximized. Therefore, through this cooperation, it was expected to be able to develop the farming business with the innovation and the resources owned by IPB.
 
Related to the innovation, the Rector of IPB conveyed that IPB had the largest national contribution which was about  38 percent, 10 percent among them had been presented to the middle of the community. “With the innovation, we can manage the derivative products and not to export the raw materials. So that, the raw materials could shift into the derived products. Innovation-based economy,” said the Rector.
 
The Rector affirmed that IPB was ready to cooperate with South Nias District, ready to advance the existing potential. “Other than that, I would like to invite the best SMA students in South Nias, who can be financed by the District Government. With a note back to the area,” he concluded.
 
Were present in this occasion, among others Vice Rector for Infrastructure and Business of IPB, Dr. Arif Imam Suroso; Deputy Head of Community Services, Institute for Research and Community Services (LPPM) of IPB, Dr. Hartoyo; and Head of Sub Directorate of Cooperation, Office of Cooperation and International Program (KSPI) of IPB, Dr. Fadjar Satrija.(Dh)
