IAAS IPB Organized Open Lecture with Exchange Program Socialization
International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences (IAAS), and Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB Bogor Agricultural University) organized the socialization of the IAAS Exchange Program, on Saturday, 21 May 2016. This program is an internship organized by IAAS throughout Indonesia which will commence from 18 July until September 2016. Project officer for the Exchange Program of IAAS IPB, Ranuel, expressed the aims of the socialization to provide prospective students to learn about the Exchange Program, especially the information and knowledge through field and non-field activities at a particular agency or institution within a specified time. Further, Ranuel explained that the exchange program is implemented nationally and internationally, between members of IAAS from one country to another.
Yet, Vice Director of IAAS Indonesia Exchange Program, Ardissa Ditrisia said, Expro in Indonesia is divided into Expro and Expronas. Expro is a student exchange activity for students with an international scope, while Expronas is a student exchange activity for students with a national scope, both are open for all students of universities either members or non-members of IAAS. Further, the Vice Director explained that Expro has two programs, namely CERES and ARCHIMEDES. CERES is an exchange program that is similar to the practice field in general, which provides an opportunity for participants to work on a farm or company with apprentice status (internship). While ARCHIMEDES, not only field work to be done, but participants will get special training in the company or institution or agency in which he/she is placed. Local committees for IAAS offer 42 internship locations, including IPB, University of Diponegoro (Diponegoro University), March Eleven University (UNS), the University Mangkurat (Unlam), University of Mataram (Unram), Universitas Padjadjaran (Padjadjaran University), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and Universitas Brawijaya (UB). As for the International Exchange Program of IAAS is for IAAS members only, where they will have opportunities to have internship program abroad.
Contact to National Exchange Program should be made with the college representatives from May 1 to June 7, 2016. Eligible candidates for the Exchange Program will be selected afterward.
