Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) was back to graduate 808 of its graduates, Wednesday (18/5). The graduates were comprised of doctoral, master and bachelor programs. Diploma  conferment procession was conducted by Rector of IPB, Prof.Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto, in Graha Widya Wisuda, Campus of IPB Darmaga, Bogor.

The Rector  congratulated the graduates  upon the successful completion of their education. Congratulations were also extended to the families of the graduates who continued to provide their prayers and supports for the success of the graduates. “IPB graduates are ready to develop the agricultural sector in the broad sense,” he said.

The feeling of happiness was radiated from the faces of the graduates, among others Muhammad Iqbal Maulana who was named the best graduate of Faculty of Forestry. He was back to recall his early entry to IPB. “I choose IPB because I want to study in Java Island. For me, IPB is one of the best universities with a high level of competition. I choose Silviculture Study Program because its name is nice and cool, and there’s only one in Indonesia and that is in IPB, so I think that it must be its graduates which are badly needed. I hope the knowledge that I have is not only beneficial for myself, but also for the forestry sector in general,” said Iqbal, the alumni of SMA Plus Negeri 2 Banyuasin III, South Sumatra.

Meanwhile, Rahajeng Harnastiti, the best graduate of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) which derived from SMAN 2 Ngawi East Java, was impressed with the statement of her class brother  who conducted the socialization of IPB to her school. “I still remember with the words that IPB will not pull out a student because of the cost issue. Since then, I actively seek information about IPB. Hopefully, I could become one veterinarian who could serve in the county,” she said.***(dh)
