Student Exchange Program Between IPB and Tokyo University for Agriculture and Technology

Prof. Tomomi Tanaka of Tokyo University for Agriculture and Technology, Japan, presented his lecture for students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Bogor Agricultural University (FKH IPB), on Wednesday, 2 March 2016, at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of School of Veterinary Medicine of IPB,  Dramaga Campus, Bogor. Tokyo University for Agriculture and Technology, will be the learning Center for FKH IPB for a year while they pursue their study in Japan. This program is part of the MoU signed by IPB and Tokyo University for Agriculture and Technology, Japan. 
 
Prof. Tanaka stated that  currently 337 (three hundred thirty seven) international students from various countries, including China, Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Afghanistan and Africa are officially registered at the University. At this special event, Prof. Tanaka presented his lecture on "Metabolic Control of Reproductive Function in ruminants".
 
The Director of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of  FKH IPB, Prof. Dr. DVM. Deni Noviana, explained in implementing the cooperation program between IPB and Yamaguchi and Tokyo Universities, FKH IPB planned to have student exchange program with the said universities for a year in Japan. In addition, the program will also be expanded to send FKH IPB students for internships program  for reproductive clinics in Japan for 2-3 months, and  lecturers exchange program as well. Similarly, students of both Yamaguchi University and Tokyo University, will also send their students to IPB to pursue their advance studies. "They are very keen to learn dairy management at IPB," said Prof. Deni. He hoped that the cooperation program will be utilized by both parties for their staff and students development. (Wied)
