Dewan Kemakmuran Masjid (DKM – Prosperity Council of Mosques) Al-Hurriyyah of IPB (Bogor Agricultural University) again organizing training course for Hajj and Umrah Program 2016 for the university communities and communities around the campus, on Friday, 15 February 2016, at Masjid Al-Hurriyyah, Dramaga Campus, Bogor. The speaker for the current Training was the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (FMIPA IPB), Dr. Hamim.
Dr. Hamim stated that of the many worship, Hajj is one of the best forms of worship and is one of the most sublime deeds for all Muslim believers. In addition to the very great reward, those who perform pilgrimage will be regarded as Guests of God. In a Hadith it says, "People who perform Hajj and Umrah are the guests of Allah and Allah grants them what they ask for forgiveness. The person performing the Hajj is forgiven and purified as if he/she is a newborn baby".
He added that the meaning of the pilgrimage, the Hajj consists of several ceremonies, meant to symbolize the essential concepts of the Islamic faith. The pillars of hajj are five, namely: (1) The first step for any pilgrim wishing to perform hajj is to enter a state of Ihram, which is a special state of purity; (2) waiting at ‘Arafat and seek Allah’s forgiveness, (3) Tawaf of where everyone encircles the Ka’ba collectively, (4) sa’iy or running between the Safa and the Marwa and (5) cutting or trimming of hair. "Thus the pilgrimage is a collection of very beautiful symbols. The faithful hope that the Hajj will bring about a deep spiritual transformation, one that will make him or her a better person, especially when the Hajj Pilgrimage is well-practiced and properly internalized,” he explained.
Finally, he explained, that we have to be istiqomah to God when we perform our Hajj and Umrah. "Start with a sincere repentance with a firm intention to change ourself to the desired level of commitment to Islam. May God bless our journey of to be the guests of God who will travel to the holy land. May God preserve our way and make your pilgrimage to be Hajj Mabrur, "he concluded. (Wied)
