51 Japanese and IPB Students Followed the International IGTF

Institute for Research and Community Services (LPPM), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) together with Directorate of Cooperation and International Program (KSPI) IPB and Directorate of Student Affairs (Ditmawa) IPB released 51 participants of IPB International Goes to Field (IGTF) 2015, Tuesday (24/2) in the Meeting Room of Rector of Andi Hakim Nasoetion Building, Campus of IPB Dramaga Bogor. This program was the student exchange program in the fields of environmental voluntary, social-culture and rural local wisdom. International IGTF was resulted from the cooperation between IPB with some universities in Japan, like Ehime University, Kagawa University, and Kochi University. 
 
Head of LPPM IPB, Dr Prastowo, said, IGTF was one of the series of IPB programs which  directed the students to go to the public. “International IGTF is expected to be able to become the container of Indonesian students to learn from each other and inspire,” he said.
 
The program implemented in two areas, i.e. Bogor West Java and Tegal Central Java, was followed by 20 students from Japan and 31 participants from IPB, and would be lasted for two weeks. “We hope after following this program, both students of Indonesia and Japan can learn many things from the community, so that they can become the scholars characterized and dedicated to building the country,” said Dr. Zainal Abidin as the field supervisor for Tegal area.
 
The releasing event of IGTF participants to the field was conducted with the embedding symbolic by Director of Student Affairs of  IPB, Dr Rinekso Soekmadi, and Head of LPPM IPB, Dr Prastowo, to two representatives of the participants of Indonesia and Japan. “I am very happy that I can join this special program. Because in addition to meet and mingle with the students from other countries, I also can learn the existing problem in the community directly as well as look for the solution to solve the problem,” said Ryota Iguchi, one of the participants of International IGTF from Japan.
 
Attending this opportunity was including Director of KSPI IPB, Dr Edy Hartulistiyoso, Chief Executive of IGTF 2015, Dr I Wayan Astika, and Shigeyuki Tajima as a field supervisor from Japan. (nra)
