More than 3,000 job seekers crowded IPB Job Fair 2014 held at Graha Widya Wisuda building, Dramaga campus of IPB (19/10). This is a collaboration of the Directorate of Career Development and Alumni Relations (CDA-IPB) and PT. Jobstreet Indonesia, enlivened by 37 companies. The participating companies are those engaged in agriculture, banking, insurance and finance, IT, pharmacy, manufacturing, and so on.

"IPB Job Fair is held every six months. Our goal is to shorten the waiting period of IPB graduates for employment. With this Job Fair of two days we expect to be visited by more than 3000 job seekers. They can come from the college alumni of either IPB or any other university in Bogor and its surroundings as well as the general public who want to find work," said Head of Sub-Directorate of Career Development, Dr. Anuraga in his speech.

Apart from the job market, this time CDA added some programs aimed to equip graduates upon entering the workforce: a talk show on the topic Success in Entering the Job World and a career consultancy. To facilitate companies in disseminating their profile, each company gets a chance to present in front of visitors.

"We’re trying to build a synergistic relationship between IPB and the business communities, especially the demand for human resources or graduates according to their needs. Therefore we are open if there is a company having other ideas in recruiting qualified graduates," added Director of CDA, Dr.Ir. Syarifah Iis Aisyah. (Mtd)
