Cultural Arts Night in IPB’s 51st Anniversary Goes Lively

Accompanying the series of activities in the IPB’s 51st Anniversary, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) stages a Cultural Arts Night. This was held on Saturday (06/09/2014), in Graduation Building (GWW), Dramaga Campus, Bogor.

This activity was full-day collaboration between students and the committee of IPB 51st Anniversary, which began with a Morning Healthy Walk (Japas) and Bazaar. The following night was the peak of the event. Starting from 19:00 until 23:00, the Cultural Arts Night was enlivened by the performance of IPB students, including the freshmen of Batch 51, UM Students ( Peksiminas winners), Student Activity Unit (UKM IPB), Students Profession Association of Bogor Agricultural University (Himpro IPB), keroncong music, seriosa music, Pop songs Pop and dangdut music.

The event began with the dance performance of Rempak Gendang by Gentra Kaheman of IPB students. "This activity is to appreciate the students who excel in the arts as well as academically, the best Student Activity Unit, the best Himpro, and employees of IPB," said Zirzis Rivaldianto, chairman of the campus festival committee of IPB.

IPB Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, M. Sc in his speech said, "Inviting all students and lecturers in attendance to enjoy an evening of art and culture in the campus festival offered in the IPB’s 51st Anniversary. I also hope that the students who are participating in the National Student Art Week (Peksiminas) in Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan, to continue maintaining the achievements of art, as well the good reputation of IPB in the event so that they can win the event," said Rector motivating.

Meanwhile the committee chairman of the Anniversary Dr. Meika Syahbana Rusli asserted, "The art talents of IPB students should be maintained and further developed to move ahead, in addition to improving their artistic skill at the national level. Students who excel in the academic field and art should be an example for other students to be able to contribute to the advancement and good reputation of IPB."

Further, President of the Student Executive Body (BEM KM IPB), Diki Saefurrahman stressed, "Aspiration is very important in the life of IPB campus community in order to encourage all faculty members, students and staff to be able to perform." (Mtd)
